HINTON, WV (WVNS) — The Summers County Recycling Collection Center has received a new truck that will help them expand their services.

The truck was funded by the Department of Environmental Protection’s Rehabilitation Environmental Action Plan.

Zack Kelly, the Operations Director for the Summers County Solid Waste Authority, said he hopes the truck is just the first step.

“My hope is to eventually get some more trailers and do scrap metals and stuff like that. We’ve expanded our waste stream, we’ve started to take in more than just, you know, plastics and what not because we want to be able to service the community more and provide us with some more funding to keep us in operation.” said Kelly.

Kelly said that he wants to use this new truck, who they have named Rambo, to bring awareness to the recycling collections center.

The Recycling Collections Center is open Tuesday through Saturday.
