Watching reality television stars go through heartache is bad enough - now imagine if you were their mother.
Kara Kaylor-Stewart held daily watch parties for Love Island USA at her house with guests including her husband, two youngest children, some friends, and her 81-year-old mother. She enjoyed watching her daughter Kaylor Martin on screen until it got to Casa Amor.
During Casa Amor, Kaylor was faithful to her partner Aaron and slept outside, barely talking to any of the new boys. Meanwhile Aaron was instantly getting cozy with Daniela and even admitted to not thinking about Kaylor while he was in Casa Amor.
In an exclusive interview with The Mirror , Kara shared what it was like to watch her daughter only get upset at being away from Aaron, not yet knowing about Daniela. "I was dying like honestly I wanted to go through the screen," she said.

Kaylor gained a reputation for crying a lot on the show, spawning memes and merch, but her mom said that's just how she is. “We are so used to her emotions and her just crying for anything," Kara said, "So I knew she was going to lose it when she got the video because I watched season five before she went on and I knew there was a video coming.”
“I’m thinking, ‘Oh my god she really doesn’t know,'" Kara said, "And now I didn’t provide her with the tools that she needs to help her through this."
She continued: "I just felt so powerless and as a mother, not being able to talk to her or ask her or tell her or hold her or kiss her and hold her. We’re very close and talk multiple times a day and I just felt so powerless. It was awful.”
It took a toll on Kara's life, admitting she "couldn't even really function" when she was at work, which led her to taking two days off. Then when movie night came, and Kaylor watched more of what happened in Casa Amor, Kara prepared for the worst.
“I didn’t even want to watch it but I did," she said, "It’s almost like seeing a car accident. You don’t want to look but you look.”
Her emotions took her to Facebook, where Kara didn't realize her posts and comments would be seen by the whole world and thought it was just going to her family and friends. Originally the posts weren't bad, sharing pictures and commenting on the show as it went as a mock-journal for Kaylor to read when she came back.
But she was a mother who loved her daughter and after Aaron hurt Kaylor, Kara went on the social media site and wrote: "I'm going to try to say this with Grace...I think Aaron has a great personality and I'm grateful for the fun times they had/have together during this experience, but once Kaylor sees the show...there will be no consideration for a relationship."
Kara later said to The Mirror: "That was my outlet...that was my way to express my anger, my feelings." She shared that she was able to call Aaron and Kaylor after they were eliminated from the show, and she said she apologized to Aaron.
"I owe you a formal apology I ripped you to shreds," she said to the islander, "But i was hurt and angry and what you did made no sense. It wasn’t acceptable and still isn’t acceptable. But that’s how I express my feelings. It’s 100% there's nothing in my statements that weren’t true at the time I said it.”
