MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A fire in Mariposa County early Sunday morning destroyed six homes and left 17 people without a place to live, the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies say the fire started in the community of Coulterville and ultimately destroyed six homes. They also report power to the rest of the facility will remain cut for a few days.
