The Toronto Blue Jays have been disappointing this season.

After a strong 2023 campaign, it seemed like this year finally could be the year the Blue Jays took another step forward and competed for a World Series title. Toronto has a loaded roster and improved on paper heading into the 2024 campaign but things haven't worked out in their favor.

The Blue Jays instead have struggled and likely will be one of the biggest sellers at the upcoming trade deadline in just over a week. Toronto doesn't have time to completely turn things around and likely will at least trade its impending free agents away.

One player who has a "high" chance of being traded is one-time All-Star Yusei Kikuchi, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman.

"The Jays need to sell at least their rentals, with the greater question being whether they trade non-rentals Bassitt plus stars Vlad Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette," Heyman said. "Trade chances: High."

It's not too surprising that Kikuchi could be on the trade block as he has been mentioned in rumors over the last month or so. A handful of clubs looking to make a run at a playoff spot down the stretch will be looking to add starting pitching help.

Kikuchi hasn't had his best season this year, but he still could be a solid back-of-the-rotation starter for a contender down the stretch. Don't be surprised if he is moved soon.
