    2 boaters burned after vessel malfunctions in Hernando County

    HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Two people suffered burn injuries after their boat had mechanical issues, according to Hernando County Fire Rescue.

    On Sunday, officials responded to the area near Channel Marker 3 off Bayport Park.

    When crews reached the disabled vessel, they began ALS medical care on the boaters, as they brought them to shore.

    The two victims were taken to a nearby hospital. Their current condition is unknown.

    The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to get the stranded boat.
