A rough week for the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars ended on a high note Sunday.

The Boxcars overcame a three-run deficit to defeat the Long Island Ducks 6-3, snapping an eight-game losing streak, which equaled their longest of the year. They also lost eight straight in May.

Hagerstown is 3-11 in the second half of the Atlantic League season and 23-54 overall, still stuck in last place in the North Division.

The highlight, obviously, was Sunday's road victory, in which Cito Culver had three hits, including his team-leading ninth home run of the season, and Dariel Gomez went 2-for-3 with his seventh homer and three RBIs.

Culver also leads the Boxcars in doubles (14), runs (35) and RBIs (36).

Welington Dotel remained hot at the plate for Hagerstown, going 9-for-23 (.391) for the week as he extended his hitting streak to 15 straight games. Dotel is batting .325 for the season and leads the Boxcars in hits with 83.
