The World’s Strongest Man was a fixture in WWE for years. But, when his time ran out, he became one of a number of former Superstars who went to work for Tony Khan . Henry’s time started with AEW in 2021, and his three year contract recently ran out. Now he is a free agent, and he is taking some time to reflect on what he’s done and where he might be going.

Mark Henry spoke with The Angle podcast following his departure, and things got interesting. Right off the bat, the long time wrestling veteran expressed disappointment with how things ended in AEW. His AEW run seems to have ended by choice, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have some disappointment with how the run ended.

From the interview, Henry mentioned he was not happy no longer working with the younger talent in the back, that his departure created a feeling of abandonment. He still stays in contact with some talent within AEW, but it isn’t the same. Honestly hearing how he felt about losing that valuable time with younger talent is refreshing. There are still veterans that care about the future of the business.

One other interesting tidbit? Henry might be a free agent, exploring his options as one can do. But he is open to a return to WWE , should the opportunity arise. On one hand, someone like him who is clearly willing to support and mentor young talent would be an asset to the company. But, WWE does seem to be doing more with younger and newer talent. Hence, it would have to be the right opportunity. That said, I could totally see a reunion for Henry and WWE. Could Mark Henry turn his disappointment in his AEW exit into a WWE redemption story?
