Rachel Maddow Breaks Down How Trump's 'Political Good Luck' Just Ended 'With A Crash'

Rachel Maddow commended President Joe Biden for his act of “profound political and personal sacrifice” on Sunday before slamming former President Donald Trump as he looks to return to the White House.

“He is now 78-years-old and gives speeches of such rambling incoherence that even his most ardent super fans start wandering off or checking their phones by the time he starts talking about sharks and showerheads and how beautiful you would think he looks if he were to take his clothes off,” the MSNBC host said.

Maddow’s comments arrived hours after Biden dropped out of the 2024 race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to be the Democratic nominee in November.

While it’s unclear who Harris would choose to be her running mate, Maddow slammed Trump’s VP choice — Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) — for having “basically no record in public service” and being someone most Americans “do not know.”

The MSNBC host later declared that Republicans — along with Trump — had been “uncharacteristically disciplined” about commenting on Democrats’ recent concerns about Biden as the GOP eyed polls and bragged about an “absolutely guaranteed victory” in November.

But Biden, she noted, waited to make his announcement until Trump picked “the most radical, the most ideologically extreme” and eccentric running mate.

“Today, Donald Trump’s remarkable recent run of political good luck came to an end with a crash,” Maddow said.

She continued, “The old man in the race now is Donald Trump, 78-years-old and only occasionally coherent, with a record as president that is viewed by historians as the worst in history of the country, a tenure that ended in violence.”
