The Red Devils have been one of the busiest clubs, having secured two signings so far this summer.

Netherlands international Joshua Zirkzee has joined from Bologna in a deal worth up to £50 million ($64.5m), including add-ons, while 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro arrived through the door from Lille for £52 million ($67m) earlier this week to bolster the backline.

Although they have landed Yoro's services, the 20-time English champions are still in the market for another defender, having seen the likes of Raphael Varane and Willy Kambwala leave the club, while Victor Lindelof's future is also up in the air.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for Matthijs de Ligt, who started his career with Dutch giants Ajax and was managed by Ten Hag before leaving for Juventus in 2019.

Bayern Munich president addresses Matthijs de Ligt future

Bayern Munich legend, Uli Hoeness, has shared his thoughts on Matthijs de Ligt's future amid interest from Manchester United.

He suggested that the Bundesliga giants might offload a defender this summer and hinted that De Ligt could be the one heading to Old Trafford, albeit he will not force the Dutch international out of the door.

The honorary Bayern president discussed potential outgoing transfers with German media this weekend and said (via Sky ): “It's possible that a defender will leave. De Ligt is Dutch, the coach at Manchester United is Dutch. I would have no problem if he stays. Personally, I would not sell Upamecano.”
