In 2017, Adam McBride, a West Michigan native with a deep passion for winemaking, took over the reins. His journey from military service to winemaking was inspired by his experiences in Germany, where he lived amidst vineyards and developed a profound appreciation for the craft. “My backyard was these vineyards, and I just kind of fell in love with it and thought, ‘I need to do that someday with my life,’” McBride recalls.

Hickory Creek Winery focuses on small-batch production using locally grown grapes. This dedication to craftsmanship is evident in every bottle, despite the challenges of the growing season. “The growing season this year was a little tricky,” McBride explains. “We had a warmup in February and then it got really cold after that, which can present some problems for the plants.”
