Lawrence Jones Peddles Conspiracy Theory That Biden Didn’t Actually Sign Letter Announcing Exit From Race

President Joe Biden made the unprecedented move yesterday to withdraw from his reelection bid , and Fox & Friends co-host Lawrence Jones could not believe that any of it was done in good faith.

While claiming that he “wish[ed] the President well,” Jones then dove into a conspiracy theory that Biden barely had anything to do with the drafting of the letter, saying without evidence that “he clearly didn’t write” it and even baselessly claiming that he didn’t sign it because “there was no video of the moment.” Jones also compared Biden to the late Senator Dianne Feinstein , who actually remained in office until her death:

I’m personally over the tears in the sadness. I mean, if there’s anyone that should be crying is the American people. We’re the ones have been lied to for over, what, three years about the moment. Obviously, you know, I wish the president well. I want his health to be in order. I think that should be the main priority of the country right now, making sure that he gets the help that he needs. But again, we still have not seen Joe Biden. There was no video. There was no photo of the moment. All we got is a statement that he clearly didn’t write.

And, you know, no offense to the president, but this reminds me of the moment when Dianne Feinstein was was going down and she was ill. Everybody knew that she was ill. And the staff put out the statement about her retirement. And so all the Capitol Hill reporters started questioning to go, you know, “Madam Senator, you know, you just put out the statement” as she retired and she goes, “What statement?” She didn’t know the statement at the time because obviously, she was ill at the time. I don’t think it’s too much for us to request some type of press conference or some type of video from the commander-in-chief to figure out if he’s the one who really signed this letter.

Biden is recovering from Covid at his Rehoboth beach house, which is one of many reasons why he would not appear on camera for this first announcement via social media. Mediate understands from sources familiar that Biden plans to address the nation about his decision in the coming days, but nothing has been formally scheduled or announced.
