On Sunday, news broke that Bobby Lashley and MVP were no longer listed on WWE’s internal roster, indicating the company no longer has plans for them. And now, while discussing this on Wrestling Observer Radio , Dave Meltzer has confirmed the duo are looking to bring The Hurt Business stable to AEW. However, they can’t officially speak to Tony Khan because their contacts haven’t yet expired.

“I know that there is talk of them trying to get into AEW. It’s one of those things where technically nobody can talk to them because I don’t believe either’s contract is expired, but their contracts are going to expire … as things stand right now, WWE is under the assumption that they are gone and that they are going to try to revamp The Hurt Business.”

The Hurt Business was an incredibly dominant faction, consisting of Bobby Lashley, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander, with the group holding the WWE Championship, United States Championship, Raw Tag Team Championship, and 24/7 Championship at various points. Yet, despite being a highlight of the ThunderDome era, WWE would seemingly break the members up without a long-term plan. And while Lashley remained a featured performer and MVP began managing Omos, both Benjamin and Alexander became afterthoughts.
