It’s another day of delays for NJ Transit following a hellish month of transit issues and cancellations. The company says the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line rail service is operating on or close to schedule today, with residual delays to trains already enroute, following earlier downed commercial utility wire on Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor tracks near Rahway. Customers were told to click on links to find alternate service information which leads them to various bus routes and tells them how far the nearest train station is located. AJ Storing, of Glen Rock, told News 12 New Jersey’s Tony Caputo that delays are “systemic to summer and it’s inconvenient for sure but we try to find a way to work around it.”

Commuters call out NJ Transit on social media after continued delays, cancellations

This recent round of delays did not sit well with social media. NJ Transit riders voiced their frustrations on X (formerly known as Twitter) and are saying the continued train issues are “ludicrous,” “ridiculous” and an “absolute joke.” “Man, it's been weeks! I can't ever know what time I will reach work or home. It's ludicrous,” one rider wrote on X. “You should host a feedback channel or virtual office hours to hear customer grievances and tell us how you're going to fix them.” Another rider pointed out today’s update is the same as Sunday’s and wrote “at this point just copy-paste” along with a clown emoji. One person said, “The worst transit system in the world. Keep up the good work!” “Thankfully this seems to happen only on days ending in the letter 'y,’” another person wrote. “What else is new! Different week, same issue,” one commuter wrote. “On a train that 25 mins late this morning but yet your conductors still collected fares. NJT should be ashamed and charge another 15% after a horrible month to commuters.” Click here for alternate routes and for the latest updates. "
