The process for naming a nominee is still up in the air, but Team Harris has wasted no time getting the ball rolling — “Biden-Harris 2024” is now officially “Harris for President.”
Just after midnight on Sunday, the newly-renamed campaign rolled out a campaign memo gathering “just some of the endorsements from Democratic elected officials from Governors to Senators to House members” in the hours after the announcement.
Included in the list are seven Democratic governors (including Gov. Josh Shapiro of all-important Pennsylvania and North Carolina’s Gov. Roy Cooper ), 25 senators, and 90 members of the House of Representatives — 122 elected Democrats in all.
Governor Roy Cooper: Kamala Harris should be the next President. I’ve known @VP going back to our days as AGs, and she has what it takes to defeat Donald Trump and lead our country thoughtfully and with integrity. I look forward to campaigning for her as we work to win NC up and down the ticket.
