Raiders finish dead last in ESPN future power rankings

To say that ESPN is pessimistic about the future of the Raiders is an understatement. Not only do they believe they aren’t set up for success, they believe they have the worst future outlook in the entire NFL.

In a recent article , the site ranked each team from 1-32 based on how they will perform over the next three seasons. The Raiders came in at No. 32, with concerns about their overall roster and lack of quarterback. Here is a snippet of why the site believes they could be in for some rough seasons:

The Raiders needed a franchise QB to build around, and they tried desperately to get into position in the draft to select one. But six were off the board by the time they were drafting at No. 13, meaning they will enter this season with Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell. Simply put, they have no chance for sustained success in the AFC West — or the conference as a whole — without a franchise passer.

It is fair to be concerned about their quarterback play as they are the only team in the NFL having a camp competition. However, the overall roster itself is in much better shape. And yet, they ranked 31st in overall roster minus quarterback. That just isn’t the case as they have multiple Pro Bowl-level players on both sides of the ball.

Time will tell how the Raiders fare over the next three seasons, but you can bet they won’t be at or near the bottom of the NFL.
