‘Emily in Paris’ Season 4 Trailer: Lily Collins Faces Beaucoup Romance and Even More Headaches

Two drop-dead gorgeous guys? Living in one of the most magical cities on the planet? Eating the most delicious food and wearing the cutest outfits? Ugh, what a nightmare ! So are the woes of social media strategist and vlogger Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), an over-the-top American in Paris scrambling for purpose and getting wrapped up in a number of romances in the process.
Last season saw a dramatic conclusion that found English banker and love interest Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) dump Emily after realizing her affection for chef and neighbor Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). To make matters more complicated, Gabriel’s ex, Camille (Camille Razat), revealed she was pregnant with his child. In the trailer for season four, Emily seems happy to pivot to single life, finally noticing all of the delicious options that sit at every cafe…and she’s not talking about the pastries.
At the same time, Alfie and Gabriel both still have a place in her heart, and untethering from both proves much harder than she anticipated. Thankfully she still has her trusted friend Mindy (Ashley Park) around to confide in, but things may get complicated as Mindy and her band prepare to compete in Eurovision, pulling her attention away. Emily also has her hands full as she helps Gabriel work towards a Michelin star, but hidden secrets threaten to ruin their personal and professional chemistry.
The real question heading into season four is will people be hate-watching or viewing as loyal fans. Many French fans didn’t appreciate how Emily mocks their culture, but in a 2021 interview with Glamour , Collins said of her uncouth persona, “We never represented it as anything other than what it was going to be. People said they were laughing and smiling for the first time in a long time, that it reminded them of what fun felt like and that we were able to offer some escapism and romanticism and travel. I was so proud of that. I did not expect it to all of a sudden be something that people were upset [about]. And we do poke fun at America, too.”
