CBS’ #TheFBIs and NBC’s #OneChicago do share a universe — P.D. vet Tracy Spiridakos memorably crossed her Hailey Upton over to FBI in October 2020. But Soffer will not be doing same.
Soffer instead will be playing Supervisory Special Agent Wesley “Wes” Mitchell, TVLine has learned. Newly embedded to the Fly Team, Wes is described as charming and rakish, an agent whose impeccable instincts and unconventional tactics fuel his drive to stop at nothing to achieve justice.
TV’s Big Casting Moves for Fall (and Beyond!) View List
Soffer exited Wolf’s Chicago P.D. in October 2022, a few episodes into Season 10, after playing Halstead since the show’s launch in 2014. On-screen, Halstead left for Bolivia, where he has been leading a military unit tracking the most dangerous cartel targets.
Soffer in joining FBI: International fills a void left by original cast member Luke Kleintank, who in April announced his “difficult decision” to exit the Budapest-based procedural, saying, “[It] is driven by my unwavering commitment to my family, whose love and well-being are paramount in my life.”
Kleintank’s character went AWOL in the latest season’s penultimate episode, after which the finale revealed that Scott had synched up with his spy-crafty fugitive mom, Angela Cassidy, and they are now on the run.
FBI: International Season 4 will premiere Oct. 15, once again airing Tuesdays at 9/8c. The cast also includes Carter Redwood, Vinessa Vidotto, Christina Wolfe and Eva-Jane Willis.
