Styles came on The Bobby Bones Show for the first time to share how he got his start in music, and the story behind "100%," the song Bobby Bones has been playing for the last few weeks.

Styles Haury knew his name sounded too much like Harry Styles , so he dropped his last name and now just goes by Styles. He came on the show for the first time after Bones heard his song “ 100% ” and played it on the radio a few times. That’s when Styles realized the magnitude of the show because he’s gotten a lot of messages from people saying they heard his song. Styles is a dad and a husband, so it’s a huge moment for him and his family because it really helped move the ball up for the hill for his music. He got the idea for his song “100%” from his cousin. She is brand new to songwriting and called him about an idea for a song called “100%” because he says that all the time. He immediately loved the idea and called his friend, and they wrote it over Zoom. The song was on hold for Blake Shelton for a while, but now Styles has released it for himself.

Before he moved to Nashville to pursue music, he worked for the 669 Pipefitting Union. His dad was a mechanical contractor, and he did not want to work for him, so he went to work for the union as a pipefitter. He shared its tough blue-collar work, and he knew he didn’t want to do it for the rest of his life. In 2017 he moved to Nashville and started chasing his music dreams. He credited his family as his biggest supporters and revealed his dad sold his Corvette to fund his first recording project in Nashville. Styles gave him 100% of the royalties to pay him back, and it took almost 8-years, but he finally was able to pay him back last year. His first big break came when he co-wrote Luke Bryan’s song “Country On,” which became his first ever number one as a songwriter.

While in the studio, Styles wore a hat with a logo on it that he created called God’s Grocery Store . He shared it’s related to a project he has coming out in the fall. The logo is a deer with its hooves up in the air in a shopping cart. The idea came from a YouTube page he created called God’s Grocery Store where he would post a lot of his outdoor videos. He had the idea for the logo, so his wife designed it for him. One day when he was writing with Casey Bethard, he asked about the logo and they wrote a song about it, which really helped Styles because he realized it’s a part of who he is and what he does.

While in studio, Styles performed his song “100%” and Bryan’s “Country On.”
