The NWA Women’s Champion recently signed an exclusive contract with the company . Despite being just 22-years-old, she has impressed in matches against the likes of Roxy, Ella Envy and Natalia Markova.
Billy Corgan looks to be building his women’s division around Kenzie Paige, and Chelsea has definitely noticed. During a recent interview with The Ringer Wrestling Show , the WWE star was asked who the next up-and-comers on the indies are.
She did not hesitate to name Kenzie Paige as the first name on that list. Chelsea Green compared the NWA Women’s Champion to Rox-C, who is now NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez. However, she noted some key differences between the two, before calling Kenzie Paige a “star”.
“Definitely Kenzie Paige. She is with the NWA. I just think she has what Rok-C had. Rok had this “je ne sais quoi”. Just something . Rok was a little different, because she was more of an introverted babyface that was very skilled. Kenzie is just this powerhouse now. Her dad was a wrestler, she has wrestled since she was a baby. He sister is wrestling with her. She knows who she is. If she isn’t in NXT, I will be shocked. Mark my words; that girl is going to be a star .”
Kenzie Paige was quick to react on Twitter at the kind words by Chelsea Green. She noted that her “heart is so full” after hearing her being labelled as a future star. Then, being a professional wrestler, she plugged the NWA on the CW Network, doing her work as the world champion well.
“My heart is so full: Thank you, until then, @nwa women’s champ can be seen on the CW app- FOR FREE”
