West Virginians react to President Biden dropping out of race

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — West Virginia voters are reacting to President Joe Biden dropping out of the 2024 Presidential Race.

The news came Sunday when Biden released a statement on social media saying he would not seek reelection. He endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to become the Democratic Party’s nominee.

“It isn’t really a shock, because I’d seen things about it and people saying like, ‘Oh, he should’ and people saying like, ‘Oh, it’s too late,’,” said Sydney Hatfield, a West Virginia voter. “So, I kind of understand, but it’s also kind of, you know, it’s a little scary.”

“I’m surprised to hear about the news of President Biden dropping out, but I do feel that maybe he might’ve been a little too old for the job,” said Zach Brovar, a West Virginia voter. “Looking forward to see who runs as a Democrat, but I do know that we need to move in that direction and away from the divisiveness of the Republican Party.”
