It has been reported that Clint Eastwood’s longtime partner, Christina Sandera, has died at the age of 61. “Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much,” Eastwood said in a statement, confirming the sad news. A cause of death was not immediately disclosed.

Sandera and Eastwood maintained a relatively private relationship over the past decade, only occasionally appearing together at high-profile events like the premieres of 2018’s The Mule and The 15:17 to Paris. They made their red carpet debut at the 2015 Academy Awards, where American Sniper, directed by Eastwood, received six nominations.

In June 2014, Us Weekly reported that Eastwood was romantically involved with Sandera, who had reportedly worked at the Eastwood-owned Mission Ranch hotel and restaurant in Carmel, California. Six months later, Eastwood finalized his divorce from his second wife, former TV reporter Dina Eastwood, after 17 years of marriage. Eastwood was previously married to his first wife, Maggie Johnson, from 1953 to 1984.

News of Sandera’s death comes a month after Eastwood’s youngest daughter, 27-year-old Morgan, announced her marriage to Tanner Koopmans. Eastwood walked her down the aisle during the ceremony at Mission Ranch, according to PEOPLE magazine. Aside from his daughter’s wedding, Eastwood is also prepping to release what is known as his “final movie,” though the exact details are still mostly unclear at this time.
