Michael Moore Calls on Biden to Resign From Office After Praising ‘Selfless Act’ of Exiting Race

Michael Moore showered praise on President Joe Biden for his decision to drop his reelection campaign, but the filmmaker called for him to take things a step further and resign from office.

“In one shining moment, at 1:46pm this afternoon, President Biden, in a true profile in courage, a selfless act for which he will be honored and remembered for years to come, put his country ahead of himself,” Moore wrote in a Substack post published on Monday. “May I ask you, Mr. President, for one more brave and bold action?”

Moore argued Vice President Kamala Harris would have a much better shot at defeating Donald Trump if she spent the next few months as president.

“Kamala Harris will be in a much stronger position to win if she can run as the President of the United States. As the incumbent President. This will give the country a chance to see her in action — as the most powerful person in the world,” Moore wrote.

Moore’s advise to Harris includes picking Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) as her running mate and calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. Moore previously helped organize an effort in Michigan that saw more than 100,000 vote “uncommitted” in the Democratic Party primary to protest Biden’s support of Israel’s strikes on Gaza.

Moore called Biden’s support of Israel a “fatal mistake.”

“If you call for an immediate ceasefire, plus no more use of American offensive weapons, and the release of all hostages, this will go a long way toward achieving peace and preventing Trump from entering the Oval Office,” he wrote.

Moore was one a vocal critic of Biden’s campaign, previously calling for the president to be replaced and referring to the campaign as the “cruelest form of elder abuse” he’s ever witnessed.

The filmmaker argued Trump is “beatable” and claimed Democrats can end “MAGA Nation.”

“MAGA Nation is over,” he wrote. “All that’s left to do is for each and every one of us to commit to getting out every single vote on our side of the political fence.”
