In a demonstration of community support and collaboration, the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office received a donation of 20 laptops valued at $5,000 from Cortavo, a distinguished technology services provider based in Marietta.

The laptops were donated to the Cobb Sheriff Foundation, which subsequently allocated them to the REHEARSE (Re-help Educate And Retrain Someone Else) program, a key component of the ReAlign/ReStart initiative that focuses on providing GED opportunities and other educational resources in the Adult Detention Center.

The initiative was sparked when Seide Bishop, chief of staff for Cortavo, approached Field Training Officer Kevon Daley from the Cobb County Police Department, inquiring about local nonprofit programs in need of technology resources. Officer Daley recommended the REHEARSE program, recognizing its potential to benefit from the technology boost.

Cortavo specializes in cybersecurity, hardware management, IT service desk, networking, cloud environment and more for organizations of all sizes. This expertise in technology management makes their contribution especially meaningful as it directly enhances the capabilities of the REHEARSE program.

“We are incredibly grateful to Cortavo for their generous donation,” said Sheriff Craig Owens. “These laptops will significantly enhance our ability to provide educational resources and support our detainees through the REHEARSE program.”

The GED Training Center will ensure the laptops are used to their fullest potential in helping participants achieve their educational goals.
