Anyone who shops at Trader Joe’s knows just how chaotic things can get when a new fan-favorite item hits the shelves. We all saw what happened with the wildly popular kimbap craze, and it will continue to happen as the retailer further develops an understanding of what its customer base truly craves. What we get out of it is a slew of seasonal one-offs and return fan-favorites to obsess over in the process. And their latest does just that for fans.

It wouldn’t be a visit to Trader Joe’s without picking up a new snack, and the latest buzz has been surrounding these delicious looking Mango Sticky Rice Crisps . They come in a 4.51-ounce bag priced at $3.29 and claim to pack all the flavors of a classic mango sticky rice Thai dessert, all in a bite sized crispy snack.

Online, news of the crispy Thai offering has been met mostly with positive feedback. On TikTok, @areesekwok describes the treat as tasting “just like mango sticky rice,” while not being anything “like the traditional crispy rice snacks” either. She explains that the rice is surprisingly crispy, and the mango brought back memories of the “sweet and juicy mangos they sell pre packed and diced up into really tiny pieces.”

Each bag contains 140 calories per ounce, and makes a great little snack. We all know just how delicious mango sticky rice can be, so whether it's the real thing or these delicious little crisps, fighting the urge to eat the whole serving is a very real reality.

Trader Joe’s seems to have done a good job at incorporating the best parts of a mango sticky rice dessert with the familiar textures of a good snack. Each bite should draw notes of tropical sweetness, bright fruity flavors and a faint, toasty nuttiness paired with an overtly crunchy twist. Snack on them throughout the day, display on a charcuterie board with a selection of jams and cheeses or treat them as a quick bedtime dessert. There’s really no wrong way to snack when the snack in question is this good.
