Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman aren't just co-stars in Deadpool & Wolverine , they're friends in real life, too—and their comedic chemistry was on full display when the duo made an appearance on Good Morning America to promote the upcoming Marvel movie.

At first, only Jackman, 55, joined GMA co-hosts Robin Roberts and Whit Johnson behind the desk, and seemed to be taking the job of anchor seriously as he straightened a stack of papers.

"I am actually making notes and changes," Jackman said, before Reynolds, 47, walked into the camera frame and interrupted his efforts.

"Why him? If he's here who's running hell? Is this ageism or what? Give me a break," said Reynolds, pulling up a folding chair and joining Jackman at the desk.

"I have a degree," protested Jackman, who graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney, with a degree in communications.

    Undeterred, Reynolds pressed on.

"I love that we showed up on a nice, slow news day...you should really cut away and show some commercials or something because this is all about to go downhill," he continued, looking down at his notes.

Fans loved seeing the stars in action together.

"They are seriously my favorite!!!😍," wrote one commenter.

"These two together will always make me laugh and put a smile on my face," said another.

As People reported, Reynolds and Jackman's friendship began when the actors met in 2008 when Reynolds filmed his first scene as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine .

"I was blown away. And I was nervous as hell. I was walking through the trailers, jetlagged, disoriented, feeling really green and kind of out of my depth, and there was no script to look at. It was just like, 'What's going to happen?' And I heard my name, ‘Ryan!' in between these trailers as I was walking. And it was you,” Reynolds recalled. “Just the fact that you knew my name meant so much to me. And you came over, you gave me a big hug and you said, 'Welcome aboard.'"

It's no wonder the pals are such a successful onscreen pair. Deadpool & Wolverine will premiere in theaters on July 26.
