Robin Williams ' son Zak penned a touching tribute to the late actor in honor of his would-be birthday.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the 41-year-old shared a black-and-white photo of the Mrs. Doubtfire star sitting on the floor with his legs crossed, positioned in front of a toy-filled couch.
"Dad, on what would be your 73rd birthday, I remember you for all the hope and joy you brought to the world," his son wrote alongside the throwback image. "There's not a week that goes by without someone sharing with me how you helped them through a dark time or a rough patch. I'm so grateful to be your son. Love you forever."
Williams died by suicide before being found in his California home on Aug. 11, 2014. He was 63 years old. The iconic star was born on July 21, and would have been turning 73 in 2024.
Prior to his departure, the legendary comedic actor gave the world a slew of classic films such as Flubber , Jumanji , Dead Poets Society , Hook , Jack , Good Will Hunting , Father's Day , Bicentennial Man , License to Wed , RV , and many more.
In the comment section of Zak's emotional social media post, fans poured in with support for the actor's son, as well as love for the deceased's immense talent.
"Your dad was like a shooting star. Absolute one of a kind and his legacy will live on forever," one said , while another confirmed , "There was no one remotely like him- before or since. What a gift he was!. Im so sorry for your loss - and ours."
A third sent well wishes , writing, "Your father was a remarkable human. Sending my love to your family."
