    Traffic switch underway on I-59 in Forrest County

    FORREST COUNTY, Miss. ( WHLT ) – A traffic switch will take place on Interstate 59 in Forrest County on Monday, July 22.

    According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), there will be a paving project on I-59 between U.S. 49 and Evelyn Gandy Parkway (Exit 69).

    Officials said southbound traffic will be placed on the northbound side in a head-to-head configuration for approximately 0.5 miles on I-59 from just south of Evelyn Gandy Parkway (Exit 69) to the Bouie River Bridge.

    The switch will last for approximately six weeks. No wide loads will be permitted.

    Drivers are reminded to be on high alert for roadside workers.
