American Red Cross giving away Amazon gift cards for month of August

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. ( WIVT/WBGH ) — In an effort to get more people to give blood, the American Red Cross will be giving away $20 Amazon gift cards to everyone who donates in August.

According to the Red Cross, the number of donors has been shrinking, which makes it harder to keep hospital shelves stocked with vital blood products. Products that are almost always in demand, especially from Type O blood donors or those giving platelets.
