Get ready for Sharon Stone, action star.

The actress and philanthropy and fashion icon has joined Bob Odenkirk to star in Nobody 2 , Universal’s sequel to the 2021 surprise hit produced by 87North.

Odenkirk is reprising his role as mild-mannered family man who is secretly a former government assassin. And while no plot details are being revealed, it is known that Stone will be the piece’s chief villain.

Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, known for his horror and action fare such as May the Devil Take You and segments of the V/H/S installments, is set to direct the film. The screenplay is by Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Odenkirk and Umair Aleem.

The original movie’s producing team is back on the roll call. Odenkirk joins duo Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, who are producing via their Universal-based 87North. Also producing are Marc Provissiero ( No Hard Feelings ) via Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment as well as Braden Aftergood through Eighty Two Films.

Universal has set an Aug. 15, 2025, theatrical release for Nobody 2 .

The first movie was made on a budget of $16 million and released during the pandemic, grossing over $57.5 million worldwide. Critics were impressed, as well. The Hollywood Reporter called it “a wish-fulfillment romp just as ludicrous as any of them but more fun than most.”

Stone is known for her envelope-pushing breakout with the erotic thriller Basic Instinct and then earned an Oscar nomination for her work opposite Robert de Niro and Joe Pesci in Casino . More recently, she has concentrated on television work, appearing on Ryan Murphy’s Ratched at Netflix and Paolo Sorentino’s The New Pope at HBO.

Her humanitarian work has seen her honored with a United Nations Global Citizen Award, Nobel Peace Summit Award, a Harvard Humanitarian Award, a Human Rights Campaign Humanitarian Award and an Einstein Spirit of Achievement Award. And she is coming off receiving a lifetime achievement award from the Taormina Film Festival.

The actress was recently on the cover of THR , candidly discussing her decades-long work in philanthropy and the twists and turns of Hollywood and stardom.

Stone is repped by Independent Artist Group, which signed her less than two months ago, and Brecheen Feldman.

Universal’s executive vp production development Jay Polidoro and director of development Tony Ducret are overseeing the project on behalf of the studio.
