NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) said they helped Colorado authorities find a suspect.

Boulder County, Colorado, authorities alerted NMSP of a murder suspect identified as Frank Perez, 30, on July 20. They had an active warrant for him for murder and other felonies.

Authorities tracked down Perez, alleging he was taking a Greyhound bus towards the Mexico border. When the bus made a pit stop, NMSP officers coordinated with Colorado officials to apprehend Perez. He was taken to the DeBaca County Detention Center without incident.

Additional evidence was seized from Perez, NMSP said.

“The New Mexico State Police remains committed to public safety and will continue to support other agencies in their efforts to uphold the law and protect communities. We are proud to assist our colleagues in Colorado in their investigation,” reads a statement from police.
