Las Vegas Raiders suggested as trade partner for veteran cornerback

The Las Vegas Raiders ' cornerbacks room is a big question mark heading into training camp. Though Jack Jones and Nate Hobbs have their starting spots locked up, the departure of Amik Robertson in free agency raises questions about who will be the second boundary corner.

Jakorian Bennett, Brandon Facyson and Decameron Richardson will compete for the role. But Bennett, who had a brutal rookie campaign, enters training camp as the favorite after a solid spring.

The Raiders' lack of depth and experience at the cornerback position outside of Jones and Hobbs is concerning, so Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox believes the team should trade for Philadelphia Eagles defensive back James Bradberry.

Here is why Knox thinks Las Vegas would be a good landing spot for Bradberry:

The Las Vegas Raiders may also be willing to take a low-risk flier on Bradberry. Defensive coordinator Patrick Graham served as the New York Giants defensive coordinator during Bradberry's 2020 Pro Bowl campaign in New York.

While Bradberry had a rough 2023 campaign, allowing a 108.6 passer rating when targeted and scoring a 54.7 coverage grade , the 30-year-old would be a solid, low-risk, high-reward acquisition.

The former second-team All-Pro has missed just one game in the last three seasons and could still be a quality depth piece and potential starter. Acquiring Bradberry shouldn't cost much, as a Day 3 pick should get the deal done, and the former second-round pick's 2024 cap hit is just $4.3 million.

The Raiders' depth at cornerback is shaky, and in an aerial-centric league, the issue could prove costly. Bradberry isn't the same player he was two years ago when he allowed a 54.2 passer rating when targeted during the Eagles' Super Bowl run in 2022, but he'll still provide adequate depth and veteran experience to a cornerbacks room that could make or break the Raiders' defensive performance in 2024.
