Rebel Moon Director’s Cut Gets Gory Trailer, Release Date and New Titles

It has been barely over three months since Zack Snyder ended his Rebel Moon two-parter, and we're already getting a director's cut for both of them. Netflix has released the first trailer for Rebel Moon: The Director's Cut , featuring plenty of blood, gore, and sex.

The films have also been retitled for the re-release, and will now be called Rebel Moon: Chalice of Blood and Rebel Moon: Curse of Forgiveness respectively. Like Zack Snyder's Justice League, R ebel Moon Director's Cut will contain brutal bloody violence, graphic nudity , plenty of new scenes, and hopefully, a story that's more coherent.

"Experience Rebel Moon the way I've envisioned it," said Snyder in a social media post, which is a little ironic because the films were always designed to be released on Netflix, free from the box-office restrictions an R-rated theatrical film would face.

Both films in the franchise have received woeful reviews from viewers and critics alike. As seen in our Rebel Moon - Part 2: The Scargiver Review Roundup , the sequel fared even worse than the original film. Hopefully, the enhanced version of the films will be better.

At the very least, we've got an incredible piece of artwork for the new version revealed by Snyder.

Both R-rated Rebel Moon movies will be released on Netflix together on August 2, 2024.
