This is North Dakota’s second-best hospital

BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — The Sanford Medical Center Bismarck was ranked as the second-best hospital in North Dakota.

This rank comes from the 2024-2025 U.S. News & World Report , which publishes the rankings to help people decide where to get care.

According to the survey, Sanford Medical Center Bismarck had high-performing rankings in adult specialty areas, including cardiology and vascular surgery.

“I am incredibly grateful and proud of our amazing team of caregivers for being ranked a top hospital in North Dakota,” said President and CEO of Sanford Bismarck, Dr. Todd Schaffer. “As well as being one of the best overall, our cardiology services ranked 47th in the nation. This recognition is an incredible accomplishment that speaks to the dedication, hard work, and excellence of our professionals delivering exceptional care to our patients.”

The center also ranked high in seven procedures and conditions including colon cancer surgery, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, aortic aneurysm repair, heart attack, and heart failure.
