Miss Peaches Stops Gala Goers in Their Tracks Like the Princess She Is

Barstool Sports founder, Dave Portnoy, couldn't have asked for a better date to the Southhampton Animal Shelter’s Unconditional Love Gala this weekend, then his precious rescue dog Miss Peaches.

The duo were honored with  the Animal Welfare Award and Portnoy posted this adorable video of Cinderella, errr, Miss Peaches, on her way to the ball.

The video was shared to the @FamousMissPeaches TikTok account and her proud papa posted, "I had the pleasure of attending the @Southampton Animal Shelter Unconditional Love Gala tonight. It really makes me happy to think that I'm somehow helping all my friends find their forever homes. If you need a new best friend just look at me and my papa. We would have never found each other if he didn't adopt me."

Portnoy's speech is so touching and in it he explains he never set out to be a huge rescue advocate, and that he just wanted a dog." He goes on to say he could have never found a better dog. It's just so wonderful how much he loves her.

People are loving how glam this special rescue pup looks in her beautiful dress and someone commented, "I love that it was never your intention to be a rescue advocate but you do it because of HER and who she is!! Thank you for all you do for all rescue dogs' Another added, "She was made to be a star!"

Now, sure, you may not be as famous as Dave and Miss Peaches but there are plenty of other things you can do in your own community to help shelter dogs and cats.

How You Can Help Shelter Pets

Find the local animal shelter or Humane Society in your area and make a monetary donation.

If you don't wish to make a monetary donation to your local animal shelter, there are so many other ways you are needed!

Shelters are usually in need of donations like old towels, blankets, unused cleaning products and pet supplies like cat litter.

Most shelters need volunteers for just about anything you can think of. You can clean cages, you can volunteer to walk dogs , and with kitten season here, a lot of shelters need foster homes willing to bottle feed abandoned kittens .

Some shelters have programs where you can take dogs on field trips or for over night slumber parties so they can have human socialization.
