Trump Wants to Take Kim Jong-Un to a Yankees Game to Get Him to ‘Relax’: ‘All He Wants to Do Is Buy Nuclear Weapons!’

Former President Donald Trump wants to treat Kim Jong-Un to the American pastime that is New York Yankees baseball in an effort to get the North Korean dictator to “relax.”

During Trump’s rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan — his first rally since an attempt was made on his life in Pennsylvania — the former president touched on his relationship with Jong-Un. While arguing that the United States was safer under him because he “got along with [Jong-Un] great,” Trump revealed that he even asked Jong-Un, “Why don’t you do something else?”

“All he wants to do is buy nuclear weapons and make them,” Trump told the crowd. “I said, ‘Just relax. Chill. You got enough. You got so much nuclear weapons, so much.’ I said, ‘Just relax. Go to a nice — let’s go to a baseball game. I’ll show you what a baseball [is].’ We’ll go watch the Yankees; or we’ll come watch Michigan at its home opener, OK? How about that?”

It wasn’t the first time Trump shared a supposed anecdote from his meeting with Jong-Un in 2019. At a September 2023 rally in Rapid City, South Dakota, Trump claimed he told Jong-Un that he should build condos on North Korea’s shoreline and become “rich as hell.” Jong-Un, however, “just loves collecting nuclear weapons,” he said.
