Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) said Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle was “full of s***” and called her response to her question “bulls***” during the House Oversight Committee hearing investigating the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump .

Mace first asked Cheatle if she would like to spend the allotted five minutes she has for questioning her to draft a resignation letter. Cheatle said no.

When Mace brought up the fact that Cheatle’s statement was leaked to several news outlets, including Politico, Punchbowl News, and the Washington Post hours before the committee received it, Cheatle said she had no idea how that happened.

“Well, that’s bulls***,” the congresswoman said.

Mace continued her questioning by asking Cheatle whether the Secret Service director had submitted a laundry list of documentation about the agency's protocols, planning, and communication on the day of the assassination attempt. When Cheatle responded that she would "have to get back" to Mace about whether her agency had turned in the paperwork, Mace blasted her again.

“That is a no,” the South Carolina Republican said. “You are full of s*** today. You are being completely dishonest.”

Mace was then interrupted by Rep. Kweisi Mfume (D-MD).

“We have to maintain decorum in this committee,” Mfume said.

Cheatle struggled to answer Mace's questions about the investigation that has been conducted since Trump was shot on July 13.

“You’re just dodging and talking around it in generalities,” Mace said. “And we had to subpoena you to be here, and you won’t even answer our questions.”

Both Democrats and Republicans have stood united in holding the Secret Service accountable for the security breakdown during Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, that left one person dead and two people severely injured.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said it was absolutely unacceptable for the Secret Service to take 60 days for the law enforcement agency to finalize a report on the incident.

“So the idea that a report will be finalized in 60 days, let alone prior to any actionable decisions that would be made, is simply not acceptable,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “It has been 10 days since an assassination attempt on a former president of the United States, regardless of party. There need to be answers.”
