Ever looked at your bedroom and thought, "This place needs some serious zhushing and maybe a bit more storage space"? Well, TikTok creator Annemiek Scholten has a solution that's as stylish as it is functional. Forget about those flimsy room dividers that barely do the job. Annemiek took a big-brain approach and used an IKEA Pax closet system to create an innovative separation in her room.
Annemiek faced a fairly common conundrum that many homeowners will come across at one point or another. She had a large bedroom but a lot less closet space than what she needed. Sure, she could slap up a simple divider and call it a day. But let's be honest, they often look a bit lackluster and cheap. They do the job, but they don't add any value to your room's aesthetics or functionality. Annemiek wanted something that not only separated her space but also enhanced it.

Annemiek's idea was to install an IKEA Pax closet system right in the middle of her room. By placing the Pax in the middle of her room, Annemiek created two distinct spaces. One side remains suited for her 'bedroom' area, complete with bed, dressers, and her television. The other side transforms into a semi-walk-in closet, thanks to the added storage, which could be added to with a few hanging bars or some floating shelves up on the wall.
Adding Lighting for Extra Sparkle
Love the idea but want to add a bit more oomph? Consider adding some lighting on top of the Pax. LED lights are an excellent choice for adding that extra sparkle and making your space look more luxurious. Not only does this enhance the aesthetic appeal, but it also makes it easier to find that perfect outfit.
Make It Look Built-In
If you want to take this hack to the next level, consider taking your Pax all the way to the ceiling. Another great tip is to paint the IKEA Pax to match the rest of your room. This makes the unit blend seamlessly into your existing decor, giving it a custom-built look without the custom-built price tag. Choose a color that complements your room's palette for a cohesive and polished finish.
