The Alpha PAC, one of the nation’s most prolific Black male-led PACs, has endorsed Vice President Harris’s candidacy for president and is calling for Black men around the nation to support Harris.

In a statement released Monday, Everett B. Ward, chair of the PAC, said the “battle-tested” Harris is the clear choice come November.

“At this critical moment in our nation’s history we must all work with a fierce urgency to elect Vice President Kamala Harris to the presidency. She has demonstrated throughout her public service career a commitment to delivering justice for all, protecting our freedoms, and paving the way for economic opportunity for all Americans,” said Ward.

“This November the choice is clear between a proven leader in Vice President Harris and a twice-impeached, convicted felon, culture war flame thrower, and pathological liar who has been found liable for sexual assault and massive fraud,” he added.

The ringing endorsement comes one day after President Biden suspended his campaign for reelection and endorsed his vice president.

The support of Black men will be crucial for Harris to win the White House. Former President Trump has been courting Black men with a sneaker line, church visits and the support of celebrity figures including rappers Ye and Sexyy Red.

Though Trump won only 8 percent of Black voters in 2020, according to AP VoteCast, 20 percent of Black men said they would support Trump over Biden in a May survey from Pew Research Center .

Ward said Monday that Black men must rally around Harris this year.

“Let me be clear, Black men must contribute, organize, vote, and bring other Black men to the polls with them to elect Vice President Kamala Harris as the next President of the United States,” Ward said.

Alpha PAC’s endorsement is the latest in a long line of endorsements for Harris from Black political leaders and groups.

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) PAC granted Harris their endorsement over the weekend, as did several CBC members including Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.).

Other high-profile Democrats have also coalesced around Harris, including Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
