57-year-old amazingly talented Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry recently adopted two stray cats she found in her garden, and she credits the 2004 movie she starred in, Catwoman , with making her a fan of felines.

Entertainment Weekly interviewed Barry on the experience of working on Catwoman and she had a lot to say about being an actual cat.. woman.

In the Entertainment Weekly article Berry is quoted as saying, " I became a cat lover because of it. I just rescued four kitties I found in my yard three weeks ago. I’m a cat woman through and through, because of that experience and those relationships. That experience changed me.'

Berry posted the new kitties on Instagram on June 27 with the caption, "Introducing Boots and Coco!I found these two little fur babies in my yard along with their 2 siblings and their mom! I got the mommy spayed and released her back in my yard and she’s now our outdoor cat and the other 2 babies I’ve found a forever home for and these two are our new lovies. It’s a full house over here!"

Berry also had this hilarious anecdote to share in the EW article, "They gave me a cat early on because I didn’t have one. His name was Playdough. I watched, studied, and learned how cats think. I didn’t have the responsibility of children and family; I was just a woman alone with a lot of idle time to focus on this. I was full-on cat, all the time. I’d crawl around my house, trying to jump on my counters, thinking, If I were a cat, how would I get up there? I was in it 24/7."

Halle Berry Isn’t the First Celeb To Fall in Love With Cats After a Movie

A Quiet Place: Day One star Lupita Nyong'o was not only not a fan of cats before filming the movie where her co-star was a cat, she was actually terrified of cats! The Academy Award winning actress actually had to undergo therapy because she was so afraid of cats .

Nyong'o said, "I wouldn’t be in a room with a cat, I would cry … I just found them suspicious, you know? They’re like little lions, and like, if they were any bigger, they would eat us.”

By the end of filming A Quiet Place: Day One Nyong'o loved cats so much she actually ended up adopting her very own, the ginger cat seen in the Instagram clip above she named YoYo.

So it seems like Halle Berry is in pretty good company with another member of the reformed cat dislikers club! Listen, as a lifelong cat owner I can tell you there are just amazing creatures. Affectionate, but not annoyingly so, smart, clean, and hilarious to watch tear around the house or play. Let's hope more celebrities star in movies with cats and then end up adopting their own cat!
