As someone who has been a mom to both human babies and animal babies (at least, dogs, cats, and a very stubborn tortoise), I can say that there's at least one thing they all definitely have in common: They grow up way too fast, especially during that first year. It's like they're changing every single day in different ways, from the skills they pick up to the way they look. One day, you'll look at your precious little one and realize that they're a totally different being than they were last month!
It's so true for kittens, especially. One moment, they're so small they can fit in the palm of your hand, and the next, their size has doubled and suddenly they're running all over your house, causing all kinds of trouble. This TikTok video really sends that point home!
On Sunday, July 21, popular Maine Coon breeder @wildmane_mainecoons shared the way her gorgeous orange kitten has changed, and even though it's only over the span of two weeks, it's wild to see just how much he's grown.
In the beginning of the video, this little guy is so tiny and serious. Two weeks later, he's standing tall, the proud owner of a bunch of new fluff... and he's already starting to look like a big kid! And though he was born with a set of gorgeous, deep blue eyes, they're now turning to a shade of green that is just as beautiful.
It's quite normal for kittens' eyes to change color as they get older, just like the change we often see in babies as they turn into toddlers. Kittens are usually born with blue eyes that will then change as the level of melanin in their irises increase while they're growing, settling into their true eye color between three and six months old.

If you've been following along like I have, you know it's hard to believe that these kitties are already five weeks old. In the most recent update , we get a good look at all three of the kittens (including the beautiful orange one from the video above). If they weren't already spoken for, there are plenty of people out there who would snatch these sweeties up!
And of course, their mom is just as beautiful — it's no wonder these gorgeous kittens are hers!
I can't wait to continue seeing these cats grow. They're so big and strong already!
