    GA-FIT Advisory Board meets with U.S. Fish and Wildlife officials

    NEWTON -- The Georgia Flow Incentive Trust (GA-FIT) Advisory Board met recently with representatives of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to discuss ongoing development of a Habitat Conservation Plan for the Lower Flint region. The meeting was hosted by the Jones Center in Baker County.

    Members of the advisory board, which includes farmers, stakeholders, and community leaders, shared their perspectives on the region’s water challenges with the federal agency visitors. Together the group reviewed the results of recent technical analyses that are supporting plan development and assessing water availability under alternative future scenarios.
