TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A woman has died after she went overboard and got hit by a boat propeller on Sunday afternoon, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.

Around 1:30 p.m., FWC officers responded to a pontoon boat on the Ocklawwahah River near Nelson’s Fish Camp in Marion County.

2-year-old found dead in Florida canal after ‘accidental drowning,’ deputies say

Among the eight people on board, officials said one woman fell overboard and was struck by a boat propeller.

She was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries from the incident but was later pronounced dead.

“The FWC expresses their deepest condolences to the victim’s loved ones,” they said.

Officials are investigating the boating incident.
