Platinum. Today, it was announced that Koe Wetzel's fan-favorite song "Good Die Young" was officially certified Platinum by the RIAA, meaning it has moved over one million units since it was released in 2020:
Though Koe is signed to a major record label now, he’s received no radio play from any mainstream country stations (Texas radio is a different story) up until a couple weeks ago , which makes the accomplishment all the more impressive. Of course, the song was included on his 2020 major label debut album Sellout , and if you haven't seen the music video before, or it's been a while since you watched it, it's full of strippers, booze and more and is quintessential Koe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzQpj5GRvVs The Texas rocker just released a new album called 9 Lives this past Friday, and currently has his first single at country radio in "High Road" featuring Columbia labelmate Jessie Murph. We'll see if he can carry all of the momentum from the record into a solid push at radio, but either way, this certainly won't be the last Platinum record he earns as fans continue to spin, and in many cases find, his music. Last year, Koe scored his first Platinum song with "Drunk Driving," also from the
Sellout album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCOfzx4cn3U&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F&source_ve_path=MjM4NTE Congratulations to Koe and team on this second Platinum record, and here's to many more to come in the future.
