LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – JGS Lifecare , a leading healthcare system serving seniors and their families, held its 43rd Annual Frankel-Kinsler Classic Day of Tournaments at Twin Hills Country Club last month.

The event on June 15th saw more than 200 participants in golf, pickleball, and card-playing tournaments, and a celebratory awards dinner. The fundraiser raised over $118,000 to support JGS Lifecare’s senior care services.

The organization expressed gratitude for the support from businesses and individuals throughout western Massachusetts. Over the past 43 years, the Frankel-Kinsler Classic has raised more than $12 million for elder care. These donations have funded various improvements, including new resident vans, furnishings, hi-low beds, and computer technologies to keep elders engaged and connected with their families. This year’s proceeds will directly support programs and services that enhance residents’ quality of life.

The event highlighted the success of The McDonald House at the Leonard Center for Living in Chelsea, MA, which uses a person-centered care model. The McDonald House’s environment, programming, and staffing are designed around the principles of the Green House model of small house care, successfully meeting the special needs of people living with spinal cord injuries and ALS. This model has proven to enhance individuals’ dignity, independence, and quality of life. JGS Lifecare has implemented this model at the Sosin Center for Rehabilitation and is committed to applying similar case principles at The Leavitt Home.
