    Arkansas Tax-Free Weekend set for Aug. 3-4

    ARKANSAS (KNWA/KFTA) — School is around the corner for many and so is Tax-Free Weekend in Arkansas, allowing parents to take advantage of savings on school supplies.

    In Arkansas, Tax-Free Weekend runs from 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4.

    Missouri’s tax-free weekend begins Friday, Aug. 2-4.

    The sales tax holiday allows shoppers to buy certain electronic devices, school supplies, school art supplies, school instructional materials, and clothing free of state and local sales or use tax.

    What’s included in Tax-Free Weekend?

    • Clothing and footwear if the sales price is less than $100 per item
    • Clothing accessories and equipment if the sales price is less than $50 per item
    • School supplies
    • School art supplies
    • School instructional materials

    Online purchases qualify for Tax-Free Weekend as long as the purchase is made between Aug. 3-4 and the order is shipped to an Arkansas address, according to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.
