New running shoes don’t have to cost a fortune, even if they’re from a trendy brand like Hoka . Zappos currently has the Speedgoat 5 , one of the company’s bestselling trail shoes , for as low as $92.83 , knocking up to $60 off its original price of $155 in select sizes and colors. With a Vibram-branded grippy outsole, supreme lightweight, arch support and solid cushioning, the Speedgoat 5 is a beloved sneaker of hikers , trail runners (and walkers) and road runners alike. Hoka is also a top podiatrist-recommend brand, and although its Speedgoat 5 hasn’t been specifically named, it’s still worthy of grabbing on sale.

The outsoles of these sneakers have reliable lugs for grippy traction on moist and rugged paths, and several reviewers say they’re highly versatile and excellent for road running as they are hiking or trail running.

“I’m a neutral foot and was looking for a running shoe that could serve dual purpose for an upcoming hiking shoe in the mountains,” says a reviewer named Melanie . “This might be my new all-around running shoe, as it was the most comfortable shoe I’ve put on.”

The Speedgoat 5s also have a rocker sole, comfortably propelling your feet forward from heel strike to toe-off, whether you’re a walker or runner. Their uppers are made with a breathable synthetic material, plus they come in over 12 colors in men’s and women’s styles. You can grab them in medium and wide women’s 5-11 and men’s 7-14.

If you’re looking for your next daily shoe, consider grabbing a pair of Speedgoat 5s while they’re at a deep discount. Read on for some promising reviews if you need an extra push toward your next run.

“Ok, I’ve got a wide toe box, narrow heel, high arches AND a high instep. Also, shoes frequently dig into the back of my heels...WHY do shoe companies make them pointy, and point INWARD? UGHHH! Finding shoes that fit is...“frustrating” to put it nicely. ;) I tried another similarly-priced running shoe brand that had wide sizes, but omg they were soooo ugly and they dug a bit into my achilles, making a blister. ! I wanted something with fun, bright colors to make my re-entry to running more enjoyable. I bought these on a whim, because they were available in my size and in wide. They fit JUST as well as that other expensive pair of shoes. Same amount of cusion and support. Same room for wiggling my toes. No annoying rubbing on my heels. AND they were PRETTY! I also love that the laces aren’t too long or too short. After trying out 10 pairs of shoes, I started to notice these little things. Arch support is moderate, but I’m sure too much support is annoying for people with low arches or flat feet. Hoka found a decent middle ground with the insoles. If I wanted to swap them out for insoles with more arch support, I could easily do that. Honestly these shoes are pretty much perfect for me and work great on the road and the treadmill. Hoka is my new favorite brand!” — Corgi

I have worn the Speedgoat shoe for a couple of years now. The shoe is very true to fit for me and the quality is wonderful. The shoe is a high end of sports equipment and it will provide a wonderful ride , but the trade off is, if used full time it only last 3-6 months depending on your use. For me the quality, feel, and workmanship are all worth the price. My shoes get about 150 miles per month. I highly recommend this shoe for training and/or casual use.” — Bill

“This is my second pair of Hoka shoes. I had the Hoka One’s that I loved, but my activity has transitioned to more hiking and less running. I read all of the reviews and watched a couple of YouTube videos on the Speedgoat 5′s and it sounded like the right shoes for me. They have not disappointed so far. Out of the box they had a great fit and were very comfortable. I have not had the chance to take them on the trail yet, but just walking locally they seem like they are going to be just as described. I continue to be pretty impressed with the Hoka brand shoes, and would definitely recommend these.” — Steve

Love these for jogging. My favorite Hokas now. The Vibram sole wears much better than my other Hoka (Bondi & Clifton) outsoles which wear out quickly. Hoka Speedgoats are described as being for trail running but the lugs are great for road running too (like old Sauconys nubby outsoles). The uppers could use some better design color ways and graphics but comfort and durability wins.” — Lapsed

Fit and size great! A little loose in the heel but ok. They are very comfortable. I walk about 6 miles most days at a pretty good clip and they are like walking on air. Lovely! The only complaint I have is that the dye from the tongue bleeds color onto my white socks and seems to be a permanent stain. Not a deal breaker but surprising. Never had that happen with running shoes before.” — Mary
