When it comes to finding a place to call home, many people prioritize 'quality of life' – the balance between healthy living, a successful economy, a thriving community, and ample entertainment, among other factors.

A recent data analysis conducted by LawnStarter sought to determine which places around the United States provided the highest level of 'quality of life' for local residents. After 53 metrics in the categories of environment, air and water quality, housing and infrastructure, healthcare access, physical health, mental health, economic stability, employment protection, housing affordability, safety, education, leisure time, recreational facilities, social and personal freedoms, family and food security, and health and wellness access were considered, several Colorado spots ended up ranking high on the list.

Ranking the highest in the Centennial State was Castle Rock, which landed in 10th-place overall. This high rank was boosted by great scores in terms of housing and infrastructure, economic stability, healthcare access, physical health, and safety rankings.

Several other Colorado spots were also included in the ranking of the 500 largest cities nationwide: Centennial in 40th-place overall, Broomfield in 44th, Boulder in 48th, Denver in 100th, Fort Collins in 112th, Loveland in 138th, Longmont in 152nd, Arvada in 153rd, Lakewood in 170th, Westminster in 186th, Colorado Springs in 208th, Aurora in 274th, Greeley in 280th, Thornton in 304th, and Pueblo in 376th.

It's worth noting that while Colorado's cities ranged greatly on the scale of 'best' to 'worst' spots for quality of life, among those cities that were included, none landed in the bottom 20 percent nationwide.

The best spot for 'quality of life' was determined to be Redmond, Washington, while the worst spot was Flint, Michigan.
