LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A sawed-off shotgun was confiscated by a deputy of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department after a drug arrest in Summit Township early Saturday morning, officials say.

At around 2:34 a.m. Saturday, police say a deputy observed a “suspicious” vehicle parked at a closed business. Upon talking to the vehicle’s occupant, a 42-year-old man, he admitted to being in possession of illegal drugs.

The man, a convicted felon, was arrested and searched, where the deputy found a sawed-off shotgun. The man is currently in the Jackson County Jail.
