Hudson County approves $8.4M in Open Space Trust Grants

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ - The Hudson County Board of Commissioners approved over $8,498,822 in Open Space Trust Grantees for numerous open space acquisitions, park improvements and historic preservation projects throughout Hudson County.

Funding awarded included:

• $500,000 for Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor Waterfront Walkway Extension
• $250,000 for improvements to Veteran’s Park in Bayonne
• $250,000 for Hoboken Skate Park and Walkway Upgrades Project,
• $500,000 for Church Square Park Improvement Project-Phase 1
• $500,000 for the Skinner Park Improvements Project in Jersey City
• $2500,000 for the Martiniak-Enright Park Improvements Project in Jersey City
• $500,000 for City Hall Park in Jersey City
• $500,000 for the Jersey City Redevelopment Authority, Bayfront Promenade Park Phase 1,
• $100,000 for the Old Bergen Church Cemetery Restoration Project, Hudson County Parks,
• $179,822 for Lincoln Park Sun Houses

The anticipated start date for these proposed projects is September 26, 2024 with completion dates by September 2026.
