Monongalia County restaurant closing after 66 years

CHEAT LAKE, W.Va. (WBOY) — After 66 years, Ruby and Ketchy’s in Cheat Lake is closing for good at the end of the week.

A sign on the front of the family restaurant says that “members are no longer able to carry the legacy of the beloved restaurant,” and that it will be closing on Friday, July 26.

In the message, the owners thanked their customers for their loyal support and said that they hope a new restaurant will open in its place and take on a lot of its staff.

“You, our customer family, have been the most loyal & supportive community. Our gratitude and sincere thanks to all of you. It has been our privilege to know all of you, your families and friends. We will miss you!!!,” the sign reads.

The restaurant was known for its “old fashioned food” at “old fashioned” prices.”
